The Building Young Men (BYM) project, led by Panthers on the Prowl, is a strengths-based mentoring and leadership program designed to empower Year 10 students in the Penrith area. Running over 20 weeks, the program focuses on building students' existing abilities and potential. Through weekly sessions and key events like the 'Challenge Weekend' and the 'Rites of Passage' camp, participants are encouraged to develop greater self-confidence, resilience, and leadership skills, while promoting positive masculinity. With the guidance of experienced male mentors, students are supported in nurturing their mental health, improving academic performance, and making positive life choices. BYM provides a safe and supportive environment for personal growth and leadership, celebrating each student’s strengths and helping them thrive.
